Granbury Retail Center Plans Unveiled

The new Granbury Retail Center plans were recently unveiled to the public at the Granbury City Council meeting. The Center is planned for the intersection of FM 167 (Fall Creek Hwy) and Hwy 377. The property comprises 65 acres of rolling terrain which developer Preston Carter invisions as the future site of Granbury’s first major village style, pedestrian mall. Mr. Carter has built centers such as Dallas’ West End and Fort Worth’s Mira Vista. The $88 million project will feature a dozen stores, numerous restaurants, and an office or hotel.

Construction could start as early as the fall of 2010 and will be done in three phases with the final phase being completed in 2015. The project will feature a village style concept with outdoor water features and plenty of pedestrian walkway areas. There will be extensive landscaping, patio seating, bricked walkways, and green space for shoppers to enjoy. Once completed GRC will include 615,500 square feet of retail and service space plus the office or hotel will has an additional 68,000 square feet. Two major anchor tenants are planned with ten junior anchors and various other retailers such as restaurants and possibly a fitness center.

Other Exciting News ... Rio Brazos Music Hall and RV Park

The Rio Brazos Music Hall and RV Resort will be located on approximately 35 acres just outside of Granbury at Highway 144 and Mambrino Highway. Jim and Tracy Hartman have planned this venture for many years and are anxious to see the bulldozers at work on this multi-faceted complex which should open in the third quarter of 2010.

The complex will comprise of a 27,000 square foot music hall, a restaurant and bar, as well as a recreational vehicle resort. The music hall will seat 2,200 people and provide an intimate concert experience even at full capacity. The architecture will allow for seats to be removed, revealing a large wooden dance floor. Plus, the musicians will have their own special areas. Special green rooms and living areas, as well as very exclusive parking for their buses have been designed.

The RV park, known as the Rio Brazos RV Ranch & Resort, will accommodate approximately 50 RV’s on naturally beautiful land with huge oak trees, and an impressive view of Comanche Peak. Amenities will include a swimming pool, hot tub, clubhouse and nature trail. Quaint cabins will be available for concert goers or vacationers. And, of course, the restaurant will be available for the RV enthusiasts.
